I have been selling on Shopify for over a year now and have generated MASSIVE results!
In fact here is a screenshot of a store I opened just one month ago already doing 50K in sales per month:
Simply put I know what I am talking about and have been doing this a long time.
I am an expert at driving traffic and I will show you right now the 5 simple steps I used to generate these quick results…
Shopify Tutorial – Step 1: Find Your Niche
Find a niche to sell in.
Now this might sound super easy but I want to caution you to think this through!
Shopify sales are almost exclusively driven through Facebook advertising and Facebook is all about one word…
Have you ever noticed in your newsfeed your friends fighting about politics or people posting pictures of their dog or people showing off their fashion?
That’s what Facebook is all about!
So you will want to make sure your store is designed so that you can target people who are passionate about it.
Don’t try selling dining room tables on your store because nobody is passionate about that LOL!
Think about things like fishing, arts & crafts, cars, pets, religion, politics etc.
Shopify Tutorial – Step 2: Find 2-3 Hot Products to Sell
A lot of people will ask themselves now ok great how do I find a product that is “hot selling”?
Well it’s really not as hard as you think.
Let’s take for example the fishing niche and say you start a store called Top Flight Fishing…
What I recommend you do is head out over to Aliexpress and search for keywords related to that niche.
In this example below I simply searched for the word “fishing”
Now what I do next is simply sort by order and what do you know I find this sweet 6 segment swim bait that has over 7000 orders and costs a mere $2.79!!!
Do you think that an item with 7000 orders and 5 star ratings is a HOT SELLER?
The answer is YES of course!
Shopify Tutorial – Step 3: Find a Viral Video
Now here is where my secret sauce comes into play…
I’ve been CRUSHING it with video ads.
We will get into that more in detail in the next section but first let’s go find that video.
In relation to the fishing lure I found above I was able to simply head on out to youtube and find the following video:
Here is why I like this video:
a) It is short and to the point
b) It shows the product in action from multiple angles
c) It has catchy music that puts you in a good mood
Now I always recommend you reach out to the person on YouTube to make sure you are allowed to use the video for your own purposes.
Assuming they say yes you can download it through http://en.savefrom.net
Shopify Tutorial – Step 4: Make a Facebook Post
This step is relatively easy and I will break it down into parts:
Part A – Create a page and select the upload photos/video option:
Part B – Select the video you downloaded from YouTube and write a post with it. Your post should start with a Problem followed by a solution and a description of the product as outlined in the image below:
Part C – Publish the post and it should look like the image below:
Shopify Tutorial – Step 4: Create a Facebook Ad
Now don’t be scared at this point!
Up until now we have performed very simple steps right?
Creating a Facebook ad really is no different.
Now I know what you’re thinking… I have struggled with paid ads before, I don’t have money to burn, it’s going to be complex etc. etc. etc.
I get it I was once there too!
But trust me if you follow the following parts to a tee you will find that it is super easy and you will generate some quick results…
Part A – Create a campaign in power editor. There are 3 that I recommend:
> Website Conversion: Facebook will look for buyers of your product
> Clicks to Website: Facebook will look for those most likely to click on your ad
> Page Post Engagement (PPE): Facebook will look for those most likely to engage with your ad (like, share,
I recommend you start with a website conversion ad but you will need to test. Sometimes PPE ads convert better sometimes website click ads perform better. This is why we start with small budget to see what works best.
Part B – Organize your Campaign in the following manner:
> Create New = General Name of Campaign
> Ad Set = Country – Gender – Age – Placement – Interest
> Name Ad = General Name of Ad
Part C – Start with a small budget $10-25 per ad set and one country at a time. In this example I chose $25 and USA.
Part D – Go Broad with your interests. Look for 2-4 targeted interests in the 5M+ range. Split them by Desktop vs mobile. The reason to split desktop vs. mobile is if you combine both Facebook will naturally target mobile only and you won’t know if desktop converts or not
Part E – Choose Existing post and select the Facebook post you just created as your ad. If you are doing a website conversion ad make sure you select your pixel at this stage.
Shopify Tutorial – Results
Now what you will see below is a simple 30 day snapshot of my newest Shopify store.
As you can see we spent just over $16K. With product costs around $10K we had around $26K in costs to generate over 50K in sales.
That’s a nice neat & tidy profit of around $25K for the first 30 days of this store!
Not too shabby huh?
What I want you to note here though are some of the costs and the reaches.
For example, in the very first ad we had $0.003 engagements and reached 378K people!
We paid 1/3 of a penny per engagement!!!
Now I want you to let that sink in a little bit to see the power of using video along with Facebook ads to promote your Shopify store.
You can cast a super wide net now for pennies on the dollar and if your video is good enough, your product hot enough and your targeting broad enough you can generate some MASSIVE MASSIVE results.
